1.
Faulkner 04:11
Sail on my wasted soul you said no battle's ever won.
2.
The moment you face the dawn alone the first time you hear the drone the futility is sharp & cold the sorrow is all but gone this is no way to travel down this is no way to learn you sell all your friends and cut cellophane & rust the lies are all stacking up cellophane and dust.
3.
Alexandria 02:41
I swear I'm not what you want I know I've tasted this all two weeks of blood & minor chords two weeks to have me on the floor and it goes... You wasted no time you wasted no time at all get in get out get back in get in get out for good.
4.
Wasted youth on another wasted truth and you're letting go and I know that this is you on the back lawn this is you finally letting go tonight one truth you're so sure of I leave it up to you but you won't let go at all one truth I'm so frightened I'm young again with you in the soft snowfall.
5.
I want Stardust to play at my funeral what brought you in will carry me out as people weep with open arms crying out to their own tired & fearful god one futile scream a cold sharp pain one count on screen one smile to fake I'll finally know your name so half awake so strong & brave the curtain's pulled the screen is blank you're only a block away you're gold and silver my October cure the last and the first we'll bury our friends & burn the bridges that lead us to them you're more than you know.

about

In August of 2013, we gave you East, part one of our collection of songs and themes that we lovingly refer to as Frontiers. West, the conclusion to this story, is an entirely different collection of songs that balance the weight of its sister release with precision.

The two-part album explores the band's interpersonal relationship with the places and landscapes that shape our art and our lives. And through reflections on those relationships with the times and places, we examine the context of our own space. What does America mean to us? How did growing up in the various places we’ve lived shape us?

With these songs we write a sort of open letter to our country and our time. This is what living is about, and in part, what East and West are about, for us.

The truth is in every moment.

about

Daniel G. Harmann Seattle, Washington

Daniel G. Harmann is a master craftsman of working class art. With the lyrical depth of Low or Sun Kil Moon, DGH's work is as powerful as late 90s post punk, & as emotionally honest as Jimmy Eat World, Idlewild, or even Fugazi. DGH's songs draw the listener in with their dark & smoky feel, while escorting you through life's landscape of pain & redemption in a way only a trusted friend can. ... more
