Alexandria

from West by The Trouble Starts

/

about

A departure from the sun-drenched warmth of the first two songs on the album, Alexandria, brings the listener to a colder, greyer place. The song feels like standing in a thin layer of fog in the morning, on a clear-cut mountain face next to the highway. Drums that pound like a death-march through the woods. Heavily distorted bass lines, controlled feedback and excellently saturated guitars all sound as if they’re searching for something on the edge of a knife. Alexandria feels like a dream you can’t quite remember.

lyrics

I swear I'm not what you want I know I've tasted this all two weeks of blood & minor chords two weeks to have me on the floor and it goes... You wasted no time you wasted no time at all get in get out get back in get in get out for good.

Daniel G. Harmann Seattle, Washington

Daniel G. Harmann is a master craftsman of working class art. With the lyrical depth of Low or Sun Kil Moon, DGH's work is as powerful as late 90s post punk, & as emotionally honest as Jimmy Eat World, Idlewild, or even Fugazi. DGH's songs draw the listener in with their dark & smoky feel, while escorting you through life's landscape of pain & redemption in a way only a trusted friend can. ... more
