Faulkner

from West by The Trouble Starts

/

about

The first track on West feels like an open hearted, empathetic look at a part of America that has been heavily affected by war. With the distorted guitars and driving drums, the song’s beautiful melodies and contemplative lyrics add balance to the song like a metaphor for the loss, shame, patience and pride that came with the reconstruction of our country. While the songs title in some sense gives away the story, Harmann’s honesty and care with lyrics, give the song a sense of understanding and sympathy that is rarely balanced so well in rock music today.

lyrics

Sail on my wasted soul you said no battle's ever won.
