about

Treetops is a dreamy lofi collaboration between Just Eric (Eric Dubois), from Hawaii by way of Paris, and Daniel G. Harmann, from Seattle. We hope you enjoy this track as much as we enjoyed making it.

Here’s a little bit about each of us:

Just Eric:
Born and raised in France, Eric Dubois (Just Eric) has finally found his home in Hawaii... His music represents his state of mind: calming and soothing. From the busy streets of Paris to the tranquility of Hawaii´s beaches, Eric found himself in his guitar and headphones.

Daniel G. Harmann:
Like many of us, Daniel G. Harmann’s love and passion for exploring music has been a lifelong pursuit. Growing up in small-town America the singer-songwriter and multi- instrumentalist fell in love with post-punk acts like Fugazi and Blur, as well as classic hip-hop throughout the 1990s, which prompted a move to the burgeoning music city of Seattle in 1999. Since then, Harmann has released 10 studio albums and is showing no signs of slowing down. His most recent slew of singles which includes the dreamy and well-touted “Both Omahas” and “andalusia” showcase Daniel’s evolution at its finest, experimenting with hip-hop beats while sticking to his tried and true lyrical approach that relies heavily on authenticity and personal touch. Despite where he’s been or where he’s going, however, Daniel G. Harmann’s career fully represents one person, Daniel G. Harmann. And to any true craftsman, they will tell you, that is the definition of success.

lyrics

Two days ago a fallen doe
Looked me dead on broke my heart
You spill your words like table salt
Into my wounds & down my arms

Battersea Park
Was so long ago

I have a drawer to hide my notes
“Wait for diamonds, wait for fall”
Tops of oaks cut through the fog
Toss it all out burn it all

Battersea Park
Was so long ago

about

Daniel G. Harmann Seattle, Washington

Daniel G. Harmann is a master craftsman of working class art. With the lyrical depth of Low or Sun Kil Moon, DGH's work is as powerful as late 90s post punk, & as emotionally honest as Jimmy Eat World, Idlewild, or even Fugazi. DGH's songs draw the listener in with their dark & smoky feel, while escorting you through life's landscape of pain & redemption in a way only a trusted friend can. ... more
